
Daktronics has announced that the factory that manufacturers its Vortek automated rigging products has been certified to the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems standard. According to the International Organization for Standardization (The ISO agency), the standard “represents an international consensus on good quality management practices. It consists of standards and guidelines relating to quality management systems and related supporting standards.” Essentially, Vortek has just been certified to follow a very rigorous quality assurance practice. Daktronics Rigging Group Receives Certificates for ISO 9001:2008 Registration
BROOKINGS, S.D. – January 31, 2012 – Daktronics Inc. (Nasdaq-DAKT) announced today that its factory which manufactures its Vortek automated rigging products is now certified to the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems standard.
Daktronics has steadily invested in improving its rigging factory since acquiring the business in 2006. Since that time Daktronics has relocated the operation to a newer and larger facility, incorporated a lean management system, implemented an Enterprise Resource Planning system and developed and installed in-plant, full-load hoist testing capability. Achieving the ISO 9001:2008 certification was the next logical progression in Daktronics plan to ensure safety, quality and reliability.
Jim Morgan, president and chief executive officer, said, “We are extremely pleased to achieve the ISO 9001:2008 registration for our rigging manufacturing facility. This is a very important step in our continuing effort to design and manufacture quality rigging products and systems for our customers.
