Rigging wizards Fisher Technical Services, Inc., is holding clases throughout the fall the get people educated on how to use Navigator system hardware. Classes include: Basic Automation Programming and Equipment Class (Aug. 22-25); Advanced Navigator Programming (Sept. 21-23); and Navigator Axis I/O (Nov. 7-10). All classes take place at FTSI’s Las Vegas headquarters.
Basic Navigator Programming and Equipment Class August 22- 25
Enrollment is open for the Basic Automation Programming and Equipment Class offered through Navigator University at FTSI's headquarters in Las Vegas, NV.
Navigator classes allow both novice & expert automation technicians to expand their skills in the fastest growing technology sector in the entertainment industry. Our Basic Navigator Class is a fast paced, 4-day workshop that will provide you with the foundation on which to build the rest of your Navigator experience. This class will provide an introduction to Navigator operation and programming software as well key elements of the Navigator system hardware. All students will learn key technologies and will receive a comprehensive overview of the system architecture, programming, and troubleshooting features.
Course coverage includes:
· Basic Navigator system structure and setup
· Cue and sequence programming tools and techniques
· Operator interface configuration and programming
· Axis device setup and configuration
· Rules and conditional system response programming
· Hands-on winch control and programming
· Hands-on emergency stop system setup and configuration
· Hands-on console setup and use
· Introduction to advanced topics, including 3D visualization and motion programming

Fisher Technical Services announces more opportunities to get trained as a Navigator System automation operator and programmer through "Navigator University" classes at FTSI's headquarters in Las Vegas, NV.
The entertainment automation field has an ever-increasing need for trained technicians, installers, operators, and programmers, and with Navigator being utilized on more and more big productions every day, now is the time to get skilled training on the most advanced automation system available today.
Advanced Navigator Programming                Sept 21-23
This advanced class focuses on cue programming and Rules, taking an in-depth look at the complex cue structures required to run an advanced automated production. The class will evaluate the structure of the cues and the design of Players and Rules used to program and operate large multi-axis productions. Situational cueing exercises will challenge and train the student's ability to consistently achieve safe and effective outcomes. Students will also operate and program cues for a 3D demo theater and be required to complete a cueing session with simulated fault situations and stage management style cue calls.
Course Coverage Includes:
· Multiple players and run cue elements
· Player structuring and go/ stop protocol
· Cues and Rules
· Show timers and time elements
· Complex logic using if/else conditions
· Blocks and libraries
· Grouping and fault conditioning with master/ slave subs
· Consoles and assign sub features

Navigator Axis I/OÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Nov 7-10
This class is a start-to-finish course in the setup and control of any axis or device under Navigator using standard industrial PAC/PLC hardware. As many venues and market sectors prefer to utilize industrial hardware wherever possible, this class was designed to address the skills needed by programmers, installers, and automation specialists in the application of these devices under Navigator. The class will teach students how to wire, configure, and operate industrial components and controllers to create a working industrial axis device that retains all of the power and flexibility of the Navigator Automation System. All end users of Navigator that control or integrate industrial controller-based equipment or other equipment that is not native to the Navigator System will benefit greatly from this class. The basic Navigator class, or approved equivalent experience, is a prerequisite to this class.
Course Coverage Includes:Â
· Fundamentals of I/O, digital and analog inputs and outputs
· I/O control - using Navigator to directly control and cue     industrial I/O devices
· Review of different types of Navigator I/O
· Understanding the Axis I/O driver and configuration tools
· Practical exercises in building axis devices
· Programming cues and Rules
· Basic axis setup and PID configuration
