Call for Proposals and Resources -Dramatic Change: An Anti-Bullying Initiative

Theatre for Young Audiences USA (TYA/USA) and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education (AATE) are seeking resources and session proposals that feature best practices of how theatre arts can provide young people with the skills and strength they need to eliminate bullying from their lives, as part of the Dramatic Change: An Anti-Bullying Initiative.

Dramatic Change: An Anti-Bullying Initiative is a joint project of AATE and TYA/USA — harnessing the power of theatre to encourage respect and community as we fight back against the harmful effects of bullying in the lives of young people. We know that theatre and its techniques allow participants the opportunity to explore, challenge and examine social issues and topics through a fictional fourth-wall, but with a real look at the life changing consequences. With our national community of playwrights, producing theatre companies, teaching artists, researchers, classroom teachers and drama specialists, our mandate is to tackle the epidemic of bullying in all its complexity, in ways that only the theatre arts can.
