P73 is now accepting applications for its play development programs

Attention playwrights: Page 73 is now acception applications for all their playwright development programs, including the 2013 P73 Playwriting Fellow, which gives playwrights a $5,000 stiped and a year’s development support. Other programs include: Page 73's annual writers group, "Interstate 73,” in which six to eight early-career writers who meet at Page 73's Brooklyn offices twice a month to share and discuss new writing; and the Page 73 Summer Residency at Yale, a weeklong writers retreat hosting four or five playwrights on Yale's campus each summer. Applications are available on the P73 website, and are due May 1, 2012.

Page 73 Productions launches their 10^th consecutive year providing funds and resources to early-career playwrights by opening applications for the 2013 P73 Playwriting Fellow and other Development Programs

Off-Broadway’s Page 73 Productions – a company dedicated to producing and developing works by early-career playwrights – will be accepting applications for its 2013 Development Programs, which include the P73 Playwriting Fellowship, it has been announced by the company’s Executive Directors Liz Jones and Asher Richelli.  Applications are available on the company’s website www.page73.org and are due May 1, 2012.

The signature development program offered by Page 73 is the P73 Playwriting Fellowship, a nationally-renowned fellowship awarded annually providing a residency year to an early-career playwright who has not received wide public recognition or professional production opportunities in New York City. In addition to a $5,000 cash grant, the recipient of the P73 Playwriting Fellowship receives a year of development support for one or more projects. Among the list of past recipients of the Fellowship are Pulitzer Prize finalist Quiara Alegria Hudes, Jason Grote and Heidi Schreck. Recently announced as the 2012 P73 Playwriting Fellow is Max Posner. Plays developed through the fellowship include ELLIOT, A SOLDIER'S FUGUE by Quiara Alegria Hudes (2006 World Premiere by Page 73; 2007 Pulitzer Prize Finalist), Tommy Smith’s THE WIFE (2010 Off-Broadway Premiere, Access Theater) and THERE ARE NO MORE BIG SECRETS by Heidi Schreck (2010 Off-Broadway Premiere, Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre).

Applicants may also apply for Page 73's annual writers group, "Interstate 73", which is comprised of six to eight early-career writers who meet at Page 73's Brooklyn offices twice a month to share and discuss new writing. Participants in Interstate 73 also receive a public or private reading of a play in the course of their year membership. The current members of Interstate 73 are Amy Evans, Meghan Kennedy, Krista Knight, Scott Organ, Jason Gray Platt, Max Posner, Harrison Rivers, and Sarah Sander. Plays developed through Interstate 73 include HAND TO GOD by Robert Askins (world premiere at EST in 2011), LIGHT YEARS FROM THE DELLING SHORE by Sam Marks (2011 Sundance Theater Lab), NIGHTLANDS by Sylvan Oswald (world premiere at New Georges in 2011), and MY SECRET LANGUAGE OF WISHES by Cori Thomas (world premiere at Mixed Blood in Minneapolis in 2011).

Applicants may also be considered for the Page 73 Summer Residency at Yale, a weeklong writers retreat hosting four or five playwrights on Yale's campus each summer. Participants in the 2011 Summer Residency at Yale included Janine Nabers, Aaron Landsman, Eric Pfeffinger, and Emily Schwend. Plays developed through the Summer Residency at Yale include FIVE GENOCIDES by Samuel D. Hunter (2010 Summerworks at Clubbed Thumb), FROGGY by Jennifer Haley (2011 Sundance Theatre Lab) and THE REVIVAL by Samuel Brett Williams (2010 World Premiere at Theater Row).

Application to Page 73's Development Programs requires electronic or mailed submission of: a letter of intent, 10-page playwriting sample, resume, and letter of recommendation.
